Archbishop Tutu should inspire Ghanaians - NCCE

Neenyi Kofi Tagoe, Agona East Director of National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), has advised Ghanaians to be guided by a speech made by Archbishop Desmond Tutu of South Africa on national reconciliation.

Archbishop Tutu presenting the report of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of South Africa said; “The Commission found out the truth, so the report contains the truth. But let us see the truth in the report as past and to use it for the way forward for South Africa. South Africa must exist.”

Neenyi Tagoe gave the advice at a forum organised by the youth of Agona Duakwa to prepare the minds of the people to accept the ruling of the Supreme Court on the ongoing Election Petition.

He asked Ghanaians to accept the ruling of the Supreme Court and use it to chart a way forward.

“Let us use the mistakes in the election to make reforms in our electoral process,” he said.

Neenyi Tagoe who is also the Chief of Osubonpanyin in the Effutu Municipality cautioned the youth against using the ruling of the Court to disturb the peace the nation is enjoying.

The NCCE District Director expressed concern about the failure of political parties involved in the petition to attend the forum and appealed to them to avail themselves of such an event in future.
