Kumasi, Feb. 11, GNA - Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene and Chancellor of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), on Wednesday inspected a number of on-going development projects at the University.
These included a new block for the College of Arts, Training Centre for the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Staff Quarters, Examinations Halls and Office Complex, and a Science Block.
The rest were the Business School Block, a Memorial Park for the University, a Royal Parade Park and rehabilitation of the Paa Joe Stadium.
These are all nearing completion and are being funded from the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) and the University's own internally generated funds.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu said he was impressed with the progress of work and urged the contractors to work hard to complete them on schedule.
He said he has no doubt that the projects would significantly help to facilitate academic work.
The Asantehene lauded the GETFund Board for the improvement and expansion of the educational
infrastructure. Professor Kwasi Kwafo Adarkwa, the Vice-Chancellor, said KNUST would not relent in its efforts at
becoming a Centre of Excellence. They have therefore lined up series of capacity building training programmes to constantly upgrade the
knowledge and expertise of the Lecturers.
