Asanteman Assoc. of Denver Colorado adopts A3Ward in Okomfo Anokye Hospital

The Asanteman Association of Denver Colorado is a non-profit organization located in Denver Colorado, USA whose simple mission is to help Ghanaian communities in need.

Besides several medical projects undertaken by the organization, in 2014 they began efforts to improve the conditions of life in A3, with the renovation of the labor ward at the Okomfo Anokye Hospital in Kumasi.

This was done through various fundraisers and events held in Denver to raise money for the hospital.

Renovations included creating private rooms for patients during childbirth and providing resources such as beds, curtains, and medical supplies to promote better care across facilities in the hospital.

On November 1, 2017, employees of the hospital and members of the association gathered to observe and celebrate the improvements and renovations of the A3 ward.

Executives of the Asanteman Association of Colorado who were present at the event were Nana Wiafe Anane (Asantefuohene), Comfort Sarpong (Obaapanin), Oheneba Danso (President), Joe Bawuah Addei (Vice President), and Kobina Annor (Treasurer).



Various members of the Ghanaian community were also in attendance to commission the adopted A3 at Okomfo Anokye Hospital. The hospital executives was led by the CEO Oheneba Owusu Danso, Nana Adusei Atenewaa Ampem III (Tepa Omanhene) representing Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, as the special guest , friends, other associated and the some organization were there to grace the occasion.

Those present at the event did a walkthrough of the renovations that had been completed in the ward. These renovations included a new water heater installed in the bathroom, floor tiring, a new remodeled bathroom and a nursing station inspected by the members present.
Nana Wiafe Anane, the Asantefuohene of Denver Colorado and the executives presented two 50 inches Element TV to the A3 Ward.



Members of the community and employees of the hospital expressed their heartfelt appreciation to the Asanteman Association of Colorado as they admired the improvements of the hospital. In addition to their appraisals, they appealed for additional beds to help the patients of Okomfo Anokye.

Nana Tepa Omanhene commended the Denver Association of their efforts to improve the lives in Ghana and provide relief to areas in need.



Oheneba Owusu Danso expressed his profound gratitude to the association for their kind gesture and promised to put the items into a good use.

The organization hopes to do more to continue improving the healthcare system in Ghana and the Okomfo Anokye Hospital and some hospitals in Ashanti Region in due course.
