Accra, April 9, GNA - An 80-member delegation of chiefs, horn blowers and drummers will represent Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and the Asanteman at the burial of Ya-Na Yakubu Andani II, the Overlord of Dagbon, scheduled for Monday.
The Akyempimhene, Oheneba Edusei Poku, will lead the delegation, according to a Manhyia Palace statement received in Accra on Sunday. Other chiefs will include Oheneba Kwabena Abebrese, Atutuyehene, Oheneba Kwame Kyiretwie, Apagyahene, Oheneba Agyeman Badu, Atitimhene and Baafour Domfe Gyeabour, Sumankwahene.
Mr Kofi Owusu Boateng, Adminstrative Manager of the Manhyia Palace Secretariat, is also expected to be on the delegation, which would be accompanied by horn blowers and drummers.
The statement said the delegation would perform all the Asanteman traditional rites to honour the late Ya-Na.
The Ya-Na who was murdered in March 2002 would be buried in Yendi on Monday, April 10, following an agreement reached by stakeholders and the Committee of Eminent Chiefs, chaired by the Asantehene.
Last Thursday, the Committee presented a communiqu=E9 outlining the roadmap to peace in Dagbon to President John Agyekum Kufuor.
The Committee was set up by President Kufuor to find a traditional solution to the problem after the murder of the Ya-Na.
