Asesewa May 28, GNA - Mr Joseph Angmor, District Chief Executive for

Upper Manya, on Thursday assured people in the area of his administration's readiness to provide them with the necessary infrastructure for the rapid development of the area.

He also pledged to institute poverty alleviation measures to enable the people to generate appreciable incomes for their livelihood.

Mr. Angmor gave the assurance in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Asesewa. He said his area was inhabited mostly by farmers and market women who lacked essential social amenities such as schools, clinics and promised that his administration with the support of the district assembly would soon initiate a programme to provide the area with those amenities.

Mr Angmor promised that he would sensitize the assembly to support constant maintenance and construction of roads to link the farming communities to marketing centres to make it easy for farmers to transport their farm produce to the centres to sell. He assured that his administration would give priority to the provision of accommodation to the staff of the assembly to help ease the current problem facing most of them, which has made some to travel from Akropong and Koforidua to work daily at Asesewa. Mr. Angmor appealed to members of the assembly, religious organizations and Non-Governmental Organizations in the area to support his administration to renew the hope of the people. 28 May 09
