Ashanti NPP TESCON root for Musah Iddrisu as National Organiser

Kumasi, Dec 8, GNA - The Ashanti Regional Tertiary Students Confederacy (TESCON) of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has called for the election of Mr Musah Iddrisu as National Organiser ahead of the party's national executive elections scheduled for December 17. "It is imperative to state that the position of National Organiser is unambiguously the most important artery to the heart of the Party upon which its survival rest.

"We therefore recommend for election Mr Iddrisu in view of his immense contribution to the development of a comprehensive organizational structure that had ensured victories for the party since 1992", said a press release issued in Kumasi on Wednesday and signed by Mr David Osei, leader and spokesperson of the confederacy. The release said as a member of the founding fathers of the Young Elephants Movement and a pivoted personality in most success stories of the NPP, Mr Iddrisu was well versed with the party's affairs and also had the dynamism to enhance the party's fortunes.

"The steering of affairs of the party at the national level is one of the most important determinants of its survival and electoral fortunes and it is in this vein that delegates should look out for competent people with the ability to restructure the NPP", the release noted.

It pointed out how porous the Party's organizational structures had become in recent times, saying the situation had culminated in the abysmal performance of the NPP in elections it could have won hands down.

Whilst wishing the party successful national executive elections, the release cautioned NPP activists to close their ranks and pursue ventures that would enhance the Party's development.
