A member of the governing National Democratic Congress’s legal team in the ongoing election petition case, Mr. Abraham Amaliba, has described the party’s General Secretary as a “walking [encyclopaedia]” of the Electoral Commission’s regulations thus making him a “competent” and “credible” witness.
Mr. Amaliba told XYZ News in an interview on Wednesday May 22, 2013 that: “Asiedu Nketia will take the Witness box [and] in him we have a competent Witness”.
According to him: “Asiedu Nketia is a credible witness in the sense that, he has been in the affairs of these electoral processes; he has attended all the IPAC meetings, so he’s like a walking [encyclopaedia] of the Electoral Commission’s (EC) regulations”.
Mr. Asiedu Nketia is expected in the dock today, Thursday May 23, 2013 to testify in the ongoing election petition matter. He will be the key witness for the first and third Respondents-President John Mahama and the NDC.
The petitioners are expected to formally inform the Court of the end of their re-examination of their key witness and Second Petitioner Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia at Thursday’s hearing.
That will then pave the way for Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia to mount to dock.
