The tension that is simmering between two stalwarts of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) former Central Regional Chairman, Bernard Allotey Jacobs and General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, is likely to boil over in the coming days.
This was after the former launched a scathing verbal attack on the latter describing him as "indisciplined" and a "hypocritical person".
A few weeks ago, the immediate-past NDC Central Regional Chairman called on Asiedu Nketia to rescind his decision to run again as the General Secretary of the party and called on delegates to vote out the latter because he has outlived his usefulness to the NDC.
He further alleged that there is ‘mafia’ at the NDC headquarters being led by Asiedu Nketiah, affectionately called General Mosquito, which was hampering the progress of the party.
General Mosquito’s position has come under threat since his deputy Koku Anyidoho picked nomination forms to challenge him.
Asiedu Nketia, on the other hand, says he is not perturbed by the ‘vile propaganda’ to get him out of the party office and that he has the shock absorbers to neutralise any missiles aimed at ensuring he loses the party’s upcoming primaries slated for November 2018.
Contributing to a panel discussion on Peace FM's morning show ‘Kokrokoo’, Wednesday, Allotey Jacobs nearly went ballistic but for the timely intervention of the host, Kwami Sefa Kayi.
“Asiedu Nketiah is very arrogant. He’s indisciplined…He is a hypocritical person…,” he fumed but the host stepped in to prevent the "Educated Fisherman" from attacking the personality of the NDC Chief Scribe.
