Read excerpts of the interaction

Q: What inspired you to vie for the position as assembly member for the Genta- Naa electoral area.

A: I am a patriotic citizen and feel obliged to contribute my quota to the development of the nation. So with solid backing from my boss and residents of the Genta- Naa electoral area, I felt obliged to champion this good course. I must say that I am not representing my own initiatives alone but will seek the inputs of the entire community in the development of the district to ensure the needs of the people are met.

I have also lived in the area for about ten years and know the prevailing problems in the area and I am positive that with the backing of the people I can bring the needed development to the area.

Q: What are some of the initiatives you have embarked on in the past to help your electoral area prior to your candidature for District Assembly Member position?

A: I have made trips to Zoom Lion waste management company to demand that they site refuse containers in the community to help solve sanitary conditions in the area.

I have also have in mind to install public places of convenience from the Frafra to Foster home area as they lack this facility. I will ensure that this lack in feacal management system will be solved as a matter of urgency when I’m given the mandate of Assembly Member.

Q: What do you have to say about the culture of insult prevailing in the current political arena in the country?

A: I don’t subscribe to the culture of insults as it hinders progress. It is normal to get peeved sometimes especially when dealing with people but this position requires that I respect the people and vice versa thus insults for me has never been the way to go.

Governance require that one works with people and I require that push so why insult them? No, this is not an option for me.

Q: Who do you see as a threat to your winning the seat?

A: After the incumbent stepped down, eight people have expressed interest in the position, but I am positive that I am the number one and perfect man for the position as the community has endorsed me per my impeccable personality in my interaction with them over the years.

Q: What will you do differently from the outgone assembly member?

A: I deem governance as a united responsibility. I may have many ideas but I trust that others have better approaches so, I say, “we will govern together with a united front and will bring feedback to the people when I go for district assembly meetings”.

Q: What you recommend to fix Ghana’s ailing economy?

A: I will encourage all to support key players in this sector to implement policies they have been outlined to fix the economic goals of the nation.
Q: What will be your last words to the people of Genta-Naa?

A: I call on the people of Genta-Naa to endorse the No.1 Robert Kofi Dokyi for a united community passionate about the absolute development of Genta-Naa electoral area.
