Aspiring assemblyman promises to promote education

Mr Joseph Ackah, aspiring assemblyman for the Amanzuley Electoral Area in Half-Assini, in the Jomoro district, has said education would be his priority because it was key to development and poverty reduction.

Mr Ackah, a tutor of the Bonzoe Kaku SHS at Awiebo near Aiyinase in the Ellembele District, made this known after leading some youth in the area in a clean-up exercise.

The exercise started from 0600 hours to 10000 hours on Saturday.

They weeded and swept the weeds that had engulfed the public KVIP at Terbah Egyanebo, to avoid snake bites.

Mr Ackah is competing for the second consecutive time with one Mr Isaac Kulu Armah, teacher of the Ayebie Amihere Basic School, Half-Assini, for the position in the forthcoming District Assembly Election on September 1

Mr Ackah lost the last Assembly election to Mr John Kwaw Ekoboe, the incumbent Assemblyman for the Area, who has stepped down this time after three consecutive terms in office.

Mr Ackah said he would liaise with the Jomoro District Assembly and some philanthropists, to solicit for funds to assist brilliant but needy children in the area to continue their education.

According to him he would also make environmental cleanliness his second priority, to prevent the outbreak of diseases.
