The parliamentary candidate for the Progressive People’s Party, for Offinso South in the 2016 election, Kwadwo Amoateng is currently battling with his life after he was shot by unknown suspected assassins.

This was revealed to the media by the Communications Director for the party, Paa Kow Ackon.

According to him, Mr. Amoateng was short in the arm and chest when he was entering his house late in the night.

Mr Ackon said: “On Thursday night he was returning from his money transfer business office and then he got shot just few metres away from his main gate. He had alighted from his car to open the gate to his house when a group of five young men believed to be in their early 20s appeared and demanded for his bag and shot him at his right chest seven times.”

He added ‘’Seven pellets were removed from his body and the doctors recommended a transfer to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital because they believed there were “over 20 pellets in his body that needed to be removed.”

The police have since visited the scene and investigations have commenced, however an arrest is yet to be made in connection to the crime.
