Assembly constructs staff bungalow

Busunya (B/A) March 27, GNA - Nkoranza District Assembly in Brong Ahafo is constructing a two-unit semi-detached bungalow estimated at 249.4 million cedis for the staff of Busunya Senior Secondary School to help mitigate the accommodation problem facing them.

Mr. Abubakari Ankomah, headmaster of the school announced this at a meeting of the school's Board of Governors at Busunya. He expressed the school's appreciation for the offer and thanked the District Chief Executive, Mr. Kwame Ampofo-Twumasi, "for being instrumental in provision of the facility".

The headmaster added that the PTA of the school had also decided to offer a similar facility as most of the staff were living in rented rooms in the town.

Mr. Ankomah expressed satisfaction with the increasing population of the school, which now stands at 240, made up of 137 boys and 103 girls. Lack of hostels for the students is one of the challenges facing the school as the majority of the students prefer to stay on campus, he said. Mr. Ankomah expressed concern about the failure of the construction of a hostel to take off although the Member of Parliament for Nkoranza, Mr. Hayford Francis Amoako, had provided about 3,000 cement blocks for the project.

Malam Musa Donkor, Chairman of the Board called on the students to be disciplined to enable the teachers to train them to become successful in life.

He commended the staff for their hard work and asked them not to rest on their oars but to strive to achieve better standards in the school.
