Assembly to upgrade health facilities in communities

Nkawie (Ash), Jan. 14, GNA- Mr Charles Yeboah, Atwima District Chief Executive (DCE), has stated that the district assembly would upgrade health facilities in three communities this year. He said the 1.9 billion cedis Kotokuom clinic would be inaugurated while the Saakrom, Gyereso and Ntobroso clinics would be provided with outpatients departments and wards.

Speaking at the end-of-year party and awards ceremony for health workers in the Atwima district at Nkawie at the weekend, Mr Yeboah said there were some measures to be adopted to ensure health for all in the district.

He commended doctors and nurses working in the deprived areas of the district for their selfless dedication and devotion to duty. He also commended Community Child Growth Volunteers, Traditional Birth Attendants (TBAs) and community-based surveillance Volunteers for their contribution to health delivery in the district.

The District Chief Executive urged the workers to patronise the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) to serve as role models for the communities to emulate.

Mrs Beatrice Appah, Atwima District Director of Health Services, asked the health workers to rededicate themselves to the course of humanity and see the professions as noble.

Mrs Appah was optimistic that the award winners will put in a lot more in the ensuing year and asked those who did not win any award to work hard to win in subsequent years.
