Awutu Bawjiase (C/R) Sept. 9, GNA - Mr. Solomon Kwashie Abam-Quaye, District Chief Executive of Awutu-Effutu-Senya has appealed to the people to assist the assembly undertake efficient and effective planning of their communities.
He said the haphazard and unplanned manner in which some structures were put up in the district was against the assembly's commitment to well-planned development.
Mr. Abam-Quaye who made the appeal at the 15th Annual General Meeting of citizens of Awutu Bawjiase, said the assembly would set up a Task Force to demolish all unauthorized structures in the district. He therefore, called on the people to ensure they obtained permits before they put up any building or structure to avoid demolition because most of the areas demarcated for public projects such as schools, roads and other social amenities in the communities had been encroached upon. Mr Abam-Quaye said information available indicated that most of the unauthorized structures for accommodation had no places of convenience and therefore, urged landlords and landladies to include places of convenience in their building plans submitted to the assembly for approval.
He advised the people to ensure environmental cleanliness to reduce the incidence of diseases in their communities. 09 Sept. 05
