Accra, (Greater Accra) Nov. 7 The Accra-Tema branch of Assin Fosu Citizens' Association has appealed to the Central Regional Minister and the Presidential staffer on chieftaincy affairs to help halt a chieftaincy dispute at Assin Akropong in the central region. Mr C.K. Amoamah, Vice-chairman of the association, made the appeal at an emergency meeting of the Association in Accra on Sunday, November two. He also called on the Central Region house of chiefs to help in finding solution to the dispute which had plagued the town for 18 years, bringing to a standstill all development projects in the area. Mr Amoamah observed that members of the association who are contributing 4,000 cedis a man and 3,000 cedis a woman towards an electrification project there were, therefore, finding it difficult to send money home. ''The Association appeals to clans at home, which have aligned themselves with factions in the dispute, to maintain their neutrality and join hands with agencies helping to solve the problem,'' Mr Amoamah advised.
