Atlanta Asantefuohene And Asantefuohemaa Installed

The Asanteman Council of North America (ACONA) witnessed the coronation of Nana Gyetua Acheampong and Nana Konadu Sempremo, the newly installed Asantefuohene and Asantefuohemaa, respectively of Atlanta, GA on September 2nd.

Nana Gyetua- Acheampong, was sworned in and Nana Adusei Atwenewa Ampem, Paramount Chief of Tepa Traditional Area was the special delegate appointed by the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II to receive the oath on his behalf. Nana Gyetua-Acheampong becomes the 3rd chief (Asantefuo
hene) of the Asanteman Association on Georgia, Inc. Nana Akwasi Appiah-Kubi, Nana Akosah Brimpong, and Nana Nyarko Mensah also swore in as Kyidomhene, Krontihene, and Gyasehene respectively.
Besides promoting Ashanti cultural heritage and seeking the general welfare of its members, the Asanteman Association also seeks friendship and peaceful coexistence with other racial cultural and ethnic groups especially other Ghanaians and African Americans. To facilitate its vision and mission, the Association has adopted an objective to build a community center in the Atlanta metropolitan area.
