Atwima-Mponua MP worried about poor academic performance

Mr Isaac Kwame Asiama, Member of Parliament for Atwima-Mponua, has expressed worry about the poor academic performance of schools in the constituency and called on all stakeholders to work together to improve the situation.

He said it is important for parents, teachers and community leaders to accept to play their expected roles to enhance teaching and learning.

Mr Asiama reminded the school children that they also have a responsibility to ensure the success of their education by studying and working extra hard.

He said, that is the only way they could achieve academic laurels, play a more meaningful role in society and help to bring down poverty in the area.

Mr Asiama said this when speaking at a ceremony to hand over a desktop computer to the Atwima-Atuntuma Junior High School (JHS) in his constituency.

It was a donation from Mr Solomon Mensah Boateng, an official of the Forest Services Division (FSD) of the Forestry Commission (FC), and a citizen of the town.

Mr Asiama said helping to develop education is one of his priorities and praised the donor for assisting in that direction.

He pledged to make available two additional computers to support the teaching and learning of information and communication technology (ICT) in the school.

Mr Andrews Okyere Boateng, who presented the computer on behalf of the donor, advised the pupils to make good use of it.

Nana Kwaku Gyinadu III, Chief of the town, said they were grateful for the assistance and appealed to the school authorities to handle the computer with care.**
