Avoid sagging electrical conductors during rainy days – ECG urges public

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has warned the public to steer clear of sagging or fallen electrical conductors during rainy days, highlighting the potentially fatal risks involved.

In a statement released on Thursday, May 9, the power distributor stated, "ECG wishes to caution all our cherished customers and the general public to exercise extreme caution during rainy days. Do not approach any sagging or fallen electrical conductors, as it could be fatal."

Furthermore, the company advised that any incidents of individual or localized outages, as well as fallen or sagging conductors within customers' vicinities, should be promptly reported.

"Please report individual or localized outages and incidents of fallen or sagging conductors within your vicinity to the ECG Call Centre at 0302-611611, the nearest ECG office, or contact us through our social media handles on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram for prompt intervention," the statement concluded.
