The demise of the Eastern Regional Police Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Angwubutoge Awuni, is still a mystery to his family and he will be dearly missed, Florence Awuni, the widow has revealed.
In a touching tribute delivered at the funeral of the policeman at Tesano in Accra on Saturday May 7, the widow described the man she met over thirty years ago as an individual who “fought like the lion that God created him to be and always prevailed".
She indicated that many people admired her late husband for being a disciplinarian and a responsible father and husband over the years.
"Throughout the years of our marriage, he has been a responsible and caring father to my family. He has been a forgiving husband to me; even when I got things wrong, he forgave me and helped me through it," Florence stated.
DCOP Awuni was transferred from the Police Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) to head the Eastern Regional Police Command not long ago before he passed away at the Police Hospital in Accra Monday March 14.
