Awutu-Amasa Rural Bank grants 200 million cedis loans to small business

operators

Awutu-Bereku, July 12, GNA - The Awutu-Amasa Rural bank in the Central Region has granted loans totalling 200 million cedis to small-scale business operators in it catchment area under the micro-credit scheme initiated by the bank to augment the government's poverty reduction programme.

The bank also rehabilitating all its branches in the Awutu-Effutu-Senya District under a facelift programme covering over 200,000,000 cedis.

Mr. John Kofi Anoma, Manager of the bank announced this in an address to the staff of the bank at Awutu Bereku on Friday. The meeting was to appraise the operations of the bank within the past six months and adopt new strategies to promote the activities of the bank.

He said the bank had disbursed 58,00,000 cedis being poverty alleviation fund channelled through it by the Awutu-Effutu District Assembly to applicants.

Mr. Anoma assured customers that the bank would continue to offer them better services through effective customer worker relationship to facilitate the attainment of objective of the institution. He however counselled customers who owe the bank to ensure prompt payment of the loans to enable the bank to extend the facility to other customers.

On the Apex money transfer system Mr. Anoma described the system as excellent and expressed the hope that with the new move the rural banking concept would be able to make a meaningful headway to fulfilling the objectives for which they had been set up.

He commended workers of the bank for their co-operation and dedication to duty and advised them to continue to make teamwork their hallmark to enable the to chalk more success in the coming years.
