The Progressive People’s Party (PPP) has appealed to constituents in the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency to vote massively for its candidate if they want total transformation in the constituency tomorrow [Thursday] in the by-election.

Divine Nkrumah, who is the National Youth Coordinator of the party said, the decision by voters to vote for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in previous elections has not brought them anything better but incompetence and failed leadership.

Speaking on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, he said, the PPP’s candidate, Mr. William Dowokpor is going to pull a surprise in the upcoming by-election by clinching the seat with ease.

Divine Nkrumah said the man is the best candidate and stands tall among all the others contesting the seat.

The party he said went to the grassroots to campaign and from what they gathered, the constituents are looking for a better option as compared to the NDC and NPP.

He admonished the voters to vote for the PPP if they want change because the ‘’PPP is the best party in this race.’’

Mr. Dowokpor, who is contesting the seat for the fourth consecutive time since 2008, is seeking to garner not less than 45 percent of the valid votes to enable him to triumph over his contenders.

The seat became vacant following the demise of the NPP Member of Parliament (MP) and occupant, Mr. Emmanuel Kyeremateng Agyarko on Wednesday, November 21, 2018.

Four political parties – the NPP, NDC, Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG) and the PPP have fielded candidates to contest the seat.

The wife of the late Kyeremateng Agyarko, Ms. Lydia Alhassan and Mr. Delali Kwasi Brempong are contesting on the ticket of the NPP and NDC respectively, while Clement Boadi is contesting for the LPG.
