The former Deputy Coordinator of the now-defunct Ghana Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship Development Agency (GYEEDA), Alhaji Alhassan Tapsoba, has been picked up by officials of the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI).

His arrest was confirmed by the Ashanti Regional Secretary to the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kwame Zuh on the Kumasi Morning Show on Kumasi 104.1FM Thursday, 24 January 2019.

Mr Zuh said Mr Tapsoba was arrested in Kumasi on Monday while at home with his wife and children.

The suspect has since been transported to the BNI head office in Accra.

Mr Zuh said Mr Tapsoba’s family as well as the party only got to know that the unidentified men who picked him up were from the BNI after they lodged a complaint at the regional police station after three days.

He told show host Kwesi Agudey that the BNI officials did not give any reason for Mr Tapsoba’s arrest, adding that it was politically motivated.
