BUSUNYA STUDENTS FARM TO GENERATE FUNDS FOR SCH

The staff and students of the Busunya Comunity Secondary School in the Nkoranza District have cultivated about two hectares of cashew and two hectares of oil-palm to generate funds for the school.

They have also established a two-hectare teak plantation to support the nation's afforestation programme. According to Mr Abubakari Ankomah, headmaster of the school, the Nkoranza Traditional Council has released about 60 hectares of land to the school for development projects.

He said the school had plans to go into mixed farming to enhance the agriculture studies of the students. Mr Ankomah commended the Parent-Teacher Association [PTA] for providing furniture worth about C300.000 to the school.
