Ablekuma Central New Patriotic Party (NPP) Youth Organiser Oliver Ofori Baah has described the current Member of Parliament for the area, Patrick Yaw Boamah, as a God-sent personality.

The young politician says the current MP is one of the outstanding MPs the country and the NPP have produced.

Appearing on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, he said the MP has served his constituents well.

"When you do your checks and see the level of work done by the current MP, you will commend him. You will be wondering and asking why it took them so long to have him as their MP. He has really done well for his constituency. From Fadama to Tesano, Apenkwa, Lapaz, and its environs, go and see the roads there. We are exceedingly grateful to him."

He was optimistic that the constituents would renew the mandate of the MP.

Responding to whether the candidate of the NDC, Baba Sadiq, was a threat, he said, "He (Sadiq) is not a politician.

"He is not a threat. If constituents are to vote massively in appreciation of what the MP has done, the NDC candidate is not even qualified to garner 25% of the valid votes cast."

"The work of the MP is to formulate laws in parliament and not necessarily construct roads or projects, but when electing an MP, you need someone who has exceptional lobbying skills, and Mr. Patrick Yaw Boamah has managed to lobby for several road projects and other initiatives in the constituency.

"His level of dedication to his work as MP is unprecedented. The NDC’s candidate is my good friend, but I have told him that his quest to go to parliament and contest Patrick Yaw Boamah would not yield the expected results.

"The NDC’s candidate is not a threat. Politics is no longer about lies. It is about the contest of ideas—what you will be able to do better than your opponent.

"But because the MP has performed so well, they go around telling people that the NPP has been in parliament for three terms and so the constituents should vote for a different person. Your good works will always follow you. This is the wrong timing for him, and if he loses the election, he will not be seen in the constituency again."

He, however, stated that the NPP will not be complacent and see the contest as a done deal, adding that the party will leave no stone unturned but work hard to secure the victory and retain the seat.
