Bagbin’s rejection of writ from Supreme Court apt – Apaak

Dr Apaak believes the Speaker must be commended for standing firm Dr Apaak believes the Speaker must be commended for standing firm

Member of Parliament for Builsa South, Clement Apaak, has applauded the Speaker of Parliament for rejecting a writ served on his legal office by the Supreme Court of Ghana over four seats declared vacant in Parliament.

He is of the view that the Speaker stood firm in defending the Institution of Parliament from interference.

To Clement Apaak, the Speaker needs to be accorded the regard and respect accorded his predecessors regardless of his political affiliation, among others.

He warned the Supreme Court to be mindful of the negative perception Ghanaians are forming in relation to its conduct in these precarious times in the history of our Republic.

He said “Rt. Hon. Speaker, ASK BAGBIN, must be commended for standing firm in defending the institution of Parliament.

The Speaker is the head of the institution of Parliament, and it should not matter who the Speaker is nor his political leanings, he deserves the same treatment as his predecessors.

The SC [Judiciary] must be mindful of the negative perception Ghanaians are forming in relation to its conduct in these precarious times in the history of our Republic.

Well-meaning Ghanaians must join the Speaker in demanding that the right things are done by all arms of government”.
