Sogakope, Aug 02, GNA - Kojo Nyaam, a driver's mate, was crushed to death by bags of cement on Sunday when the articulated truck loaded with cement on which he was travelling from Aflao collided with a saloon car at Agbakope near Sogakope.

Mr Ofosu Nyanor, the driver of the articulated truck whose condition is said to be serious, is on admission at the District Hospital at Sogakope.

Mr Silas Senanu, Police Inspector at Sogakope, told the GNA that all three occupants of the saloon car were treated and discharged at a health canter at Akatsi.

Mr Senanu said the saloon car, which was travelling from Accra, had a problem with its shaft on reaching Agbakope and collided with the truck coming from Aflao.

He said in his attempt to jump off the articulated truck, Nyaan got trapped under bags of cement when the truck somersaulted. Mr Senanu said about 200 bags of cement were destroyed as a result of the accident.
