GhanaWeb has introduced a new programme to provide election updates and election-related news to its viewers.
The show which premiered on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, is focused on curating news stories related to the 2024 elections from all regions nationwide.
In its first episode, here are some stories that were featured:
Ghana’s parliament resumed sitting on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, with calls from the minority side for the speaker to declare 4 seats vacant since the MPs for those constituencies are contesting the 2024 elections on different tickets.
Also, the Majority Leader of Parliament, Alexander Kwamina Afenyo-Markin, has filed a suit at the Supreme Court invoking the court’s jurisdiction in interpreting some provisions in Article 94 of the constitution.
Furthermore, the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has deferred his ruling on an application by the Minority Leader to declare four seats vacant.
According to the Speaker, he will use the next few days to write a thorough ruling on the matter, which was moved by Minority Leader Cassiel Ato Forson on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.
