The Bantama Central of the Christ Apostolic Church International has donated items worth GH¢40,000.00 to five Children’s Homes and Special schools in Kumasi, the Ashanti Region.

The items, including rice, sugar, cartons of milk, cooking oil, toiletries, assorted drinks, sardines, detergents among many others were donated to the schools as part of the climax of the 2018 40 Days Fasting and Prayers of the church.

The schools were the SOS Village; Kumasi Children’s Home; Rhema Centre, Edwinase Rehabilitation Centre and Kumasi Special School.

Presenting the items on behalf of the Church, the Territorial Apostle, Dr. Michael Nimo with support from Apostle Dr Emmanuel Kwabena Donkor, General Secretary of CACI, Apostle S.C.K Akomeah; in his address explained that the donation is part of the Church’s social responsibilities to the society.

He added that apart from the items, an amount of GHC800, 00 was given to each of the five schools.

Speaking exclusively to Ghanaweb, the host pastor, Apostle Samuel Cosmos Kojo Akomeah said the Bantama Central CACI after waiting on the Lord for 40 Days in prayers and fasting deemed it best to present these items to the needy people in the society; especially children who with no fault of theirs have found shelter and protection in recognized homes in the country.

“As we climaxed the 2018 40 Days Prayers and Fasting, the church found it necessary to extend a hand to our neighbours because the Bible says in James 1:27 that Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

He added that CACI as a whole, sees orphans and widows as important people in the society and that, at regular intervals, they need to reach out to them to make them know their worth in society.

Apostle Akomeah expressed the hope that the donation would go a long way to solve some of the challenges of the institution.

He used the opportunity to call on the general public, institutions, and individuals to also help.

Madam Esther who received the items on behalf of all the 5 Children's Home thanked the church for the gesture.

She continued that the donation had come in good time to assist the five schools to cater for the needs of the children, who were excited about it and.
