The Ghana Bar Association (GBA) has been asked by Attorney General and Minister of Justice Godfred Yeboah Dame to be on the lookout for any unlawful pressure on the judiciary.
He made this statement on Monday, November 4, at the GBA's executive and president swearing-in event in Accra.
“The Bar must prevent and condemn each and every act of illegal pressure on the Judiciary,” a report by citinewsroom.com quoted the AG as saying.
He further warned against “unscrupulous persons who undermine the independence of the Judiciary by tarnishing its image unjustifiably.”
Dame emphasized the vital role of the legal community, stating that preserving the judiciary's integrity is crucial to upholding the “purity, dignity, and majesty of our courts.”
