Barber jailed for stealing master's wedding ring, bible

Ho, May 8, GNA - Kobla Ampedu, 21, a barber who pleaded guilty to stealing his master's wedding ring, bible and other personal-effects has been sentenced to two years' imprisonment by a Ho Circuit Court. Prosecuting, ASP Kwame Osei told the court, presided over by Mr Emmanuel Siameh, that one Lieutenant Colonel Ekwow Jones employed Ampedu to manage his barbering shop.

He said Ampedu worked for sometime and brought a friend to take over from him.

ASP Osei said a few weeks later, Ampedu suggested to the friend to help rob the master and escape.

He said being disappointed by the friend's lack of interest in the idea; Ampedu ransacked the master's room on April 12 this year and made away with items including a wedding gown, Samsung sound system, and briefcases with money totalling 4.9 million cedis.

ASP Osei said upon a tip-off, the Police traced Ampadu to Dzemeni where he was hiding and arrested him at with his girlfriend. He said Ampedu admitted the offence and that all the items and part of the money had since been retrieved.
