The court case between the state and activist, Oliver Barker-Vormawor has been adjourned to May 20, 2024.

The much-anticipated case was expected to be heard by the High Court on Monday, May 13, 2024.

However, when the case was called, a clerk of the court told the parties that the judge was on an assignment and could not make it to court.

The activist took to social media to announce the adjournment.

He said, “We have just been informed that the Judge, has been assigned on a Course by the Chief Justice. Case adjourned to next week 20th May at 11 am.”

Commenting on the case, before the case was called on Monday, Barker-Vormawor indicated that he expects the state to follow through with the case to the end.

“No, I do not want the Attorney-General to file any Nolle Prosequi in this matter. He has committed two years to it, best he sees it through.

"I want them to continue the shambolic process they have set in motion. For everyone to see what a sham of a democracy this regime has made Ghana," his post read in part.

"No amount of treason trials will obscure the fact of his ineptitude or weak ego! I will be in Court today to answer 'Not Guilty Your Dishonour.' I said what I said!” his post concluded.
