Bawumia Should Acquaint Himself With SADA Projects - CEO

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Savannah Accelerated Development Authority, Alhaji Gilbert Seidu Iddi says progress on the authority's projects have been very encouraging.

Already a sheanut factory constructed at Buipe is now operational, while a groundnut processing factory is expected to be established to boost groundnut production and processing.

Government has also earmarked 350 million dollars for the Volta River Authority to establish a hydro power plant at Pwalugu in the Upper East Region, to irrigate 150,000 hectares of land for tomato and rice cultivation, and to harness the fishing potential of the area.

Alhaji Iddi, in an interview with XYZ News said these achievements are contrary to assertions by the Vice Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, that the National democratic Congress (NDC) government has failed to make development of the North and all other parts of Ghana a priority.

Alhaji Gilbert Seidu said government is committed to helping bridge the yawning development gap between the Northern and Southern Sectors of the country through SADA.

He urged the NPP runningmate to acquaint himself with the projects undertaken by SADA before making such comments.
