Bawumia is now my god I worship everyday - Sir John

The General Secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie aka Sir John, has said the star witness of the 2012 election petition, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is now his ‘God’ whom he ‘worships and cry’ upon every blessed day.

Sir John, who was speaking on Asempa FM on the on-going election petition hearing last Tuesday, publicly declared that Dr. Bawumia is his survival and someone who puts a smile on his face.

The host asked whether Dr. Bawumia is now Sir John’s saviour, he again said “He (Dr. Bawumia) is my life, he is my God and everything about me now is Dr. Bawumia. It’s through him that we (the NPP) have been able to expose the NDC of their criminal acts, and now the truth is clear for everyone to see,” he said.

Nonetheless, Sir John after referring Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as his ‘God’ was quick to explain the meaning of the statement so he will not be castigated in the public.

“If I say someone is my God, it doesn’t mean the person is above our Heavenly Father. Even someone you depend on can be your God; not the big ‘G’-God, but the lesser ‘god’. We don’t have only one God so it can be the other way round,” he explained.
