The flagbearer of the NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has led a strong delegation of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) to the final funeral rites of the former Deputy Finance Minister, John Kumah.
The late Kumah, who was also the MP for Ejisu, passed away in March this year. His burial and final funeral rites are being held in his hometown, Onwe, in the Ejisu Constituency today.
Scores of people are in Onwe for the funeral, and, as expected, the NPP is heavily represented, serving as the chief mourners alongside the family.
The leader of the NPP and its flagbearer, who has been campaigning in the north over the past few days, arrived in Kumasi on Saturday morning, leading a powerful government and party delegation.
The Vice President was visibly grief-stricken when he arrived and filed past the body of the late Deputy Finance Minister, with whom he had a very good relationship.
The Chief of Staff, Hon. Akosua Frema Osei Opare, was part of the delegation, as were the National Chairman of the NPP, Steven Ayesu Ntim, and General Secretary Justin Kodua Frempong.
A number of Ministers of State, NPP MPs, and NPP Party Executives were also part of the delegation."
