The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has charged Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia to focus his efforts on resolving the economic challenges facing the country rather than embarking on needless lectures.
Information has been circulating on social media that Dr Bawumia will deliver a lecture on the topic “Arresting the falling cedi; fixing the foundation” on March 16 at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).
But Mr Nketiah thinks “this (lecture) is completely uncalled for”.
In an interview with Francis Abban on Starr FM’s Morning Starr on Tuesday, March 15, he said lectures were for opposition parties since they were not in government to implement their ideas, for which reason they go public to announce the ideas they have, but “you are in government, you have the ideas to fix them (economic problems), so why are you coming to tell us?” adding: “Go ahead and fix [them]?
“You told us and we have given you the opportunity. You will not concentrate and solve the problem, but you are still coming to organise seminars on what should be done for who to go and do?”
