Bawumia uncovers NDC’s ploy to stain Akufo-Addo

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia

The vice presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamadu Bawumia, has exposed plans by the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) which is desperately seeking to retain power to smear the NPP with some unfounded corruption allegations.

The move by the NDC is to divert peoples’ attention from the NPP and to put confusion and doubts in them so as to sway their support from the NPP ahead of the coming elections.

Dr. Bawumia however called on the people of Ghana to disregard such claims since they are made to discredit the NPP.

He said the NDC; fully aware of their impending defeat in the coming elections is deploying so many tactics to be able to smear the NPP in the eyes of the majority of supporters who have made up their minds to vote for change.

Dr. Bawumia, who was moved by the huge crowd that greeted them when they arrived in Wa indicated that, the massive crowd of supporters is manifestation of the fact that, “today you are going to make Nana Addo-Danquah Akufo-Addo the next president of the Republic of Ghana. You are telling us that you are going to get rid of the most corrupt government in the history of Ghana, that you are poised to get rid of a very incompetent government in Ghana,” he said.

According to him, Ghana has lots of resources, with the Mahama administration being the greatest beneficiary but has failed to make things work for Ghana.

He mentioned that the NDC government under John Mahama has 248 billion Ghana Cedis at its disposal but collapsed “the School feeding program, free maternal care, no teacher training allowance, no allowances for trainee nurses”.

“… But the NPP under Kufuor, with 20 billion Cedis was able to transform Ghana from HIPC and rebuilt the country, bringing the capitation, free maternal healthcare, metro mass transport, mass cocoa spraying, and teacher allowances, among other things to make lives better.”

“…But Mahama with 248 billion Cedis; capitation no money, free maternal healthcare-no money, metro mass transport-collapsed, mass cocoa spraying-no money, teacher allowances-no money, nurses trainee allowances-no money, contractors-no money. Where has all the money gone” he said.

According to him, the people of Ghana are suffering and cannot pay school fees due to its increment and yet Mahama likes to preside over the looting of the SADA funds, school feeding grants, telling us there is no money.

“But when it comes to GYEEDA, CAR POWER, WOYOME, BUS BRANDING, SADA, there is money to give to people to pocket. This is corruption in its highest sense.” He added.
