Be ethical not emotive – Striking pharmacists advised

A labour expert is urging striking government pharmacists to return to work.

Senyo Adjabeng said the over two months strike action by government pharmacists is a source of concern for Ghanaians.

The pharmacists are protesting their new grading system under the new pay policy Single Spine Salary Structure.

They say until their grievances have been resolved they are not returning to work.

In an interview with Joy News, Senyo Adjabeng called on the pharmacists not to be emotive. He reminded them of their professional oath they took before entering the profession.

“Leave emotions out of this. Make sure we now look at the national and public interest, especially to do with the ethics of our professions because indeed we are professionals and we need to know that we have taken oath to be in the profession that we are in,” he advised.

Senyo Adjabeng also called for a stakeholders meeting to resolve the impasse.
