"Be exemplary peacemakers at this crucial time "- Presby Minister

The Reverend Ransford Kwabena Awuku-Gyampoh, a Minister at the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Koforidua, has urged Christians to show discipline, comportment and ensure peace, especially during this electioneering period.

“Do not encourage your children, especially the youth, to engage in riots and unnecessary debates this election period,” he said.

He said Christians should be the example of peace in their communities and the society at large, explaining that as Christians, their lives were supposed to be an example for the society to emulate and it was important that they demonstrated peace everywhere they lived.

Rev. Awuku-Gyampoh gave the advice at a special Sunday service organized by the Dome-Pillar 2, Newtown Presbyterian Church to kick-start a three-day revival programme dubbed: “Dominant Feast – Obtaining a Double Portion.”

His sermon was on the topic: “The Holy Spirit and the Believer; Called to be Peacemakers.”

Rev. Awuku-Gyampoh said Christians needed to educate people on peacemaking, saying, “We should teach our children, spouses, colleagues and friends to be peacemakers.”

He explained that, there was the need for Christians and leaders in general to make conscious efforts to teach people to live peaceful lives, adding that, education on peace was critical to maintaining peace at all times.

Rev. Awuku-Gyampoh appealed to Christians to also pray for the country to maintain peace, saying, prayer was the master key to obtaining everything, including peace.

Commenting on the three-day revival programme, he urged people in the Dome-Pillar 2 Community and all those who could make time to attend the programme, saying, “You will experience the presence of God.”**
