Nyinahin (Ash), Oct 6, GNA - The Most Reverend Gabriel Justice Anokye, auxiliary Bishop of the Kumasi Catholic Archdiocese, has advised married couples to be obedient and faithful to each other to ensure happy marriages and happy home.
He noted that without faithfulness and honesty, there will always be problems in marriages leading to their break-ups and broken homes. Delivering the sermon at a mass wedding organised by the Nyinahin parish of the Catholic Church at Nyinahin on Sunday during which 18 couples were joined in holy matrimony, Bishop Anokye said God created a woman to be a man's companion and helper.
"God therefore joins the two in marriage and man must not separate them".
Bishop Anokye asked husbands to give spiritual leadership as Christ did and find satisfaction in their wives and not in other women. He called on women to respect their husbands as leaders and meet their sexual needs.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency later in an interview, Bishop Anokye said the mass wedding encouraged Christians to seek their sacrament without fear or hesitation.
He said it also avoided expensive wedding and encouraged Christians to be interested in wedding their wives.
