The Progressive People’s Party (PPP) Youth Affairs leader, Felix Mantey has said his party will criticize the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) if things are going wrong under the President Nana Akufo-Addo.

According to him, PPP will not sit aloof when things are going bad.

“PPP is poised to criticize constructively…we are in support of the agenda the government is pursuing, and we say they should continue with it, but I must say that we are not going to keep quiet; we will talk and when we complain they listen so that the nation will move forward,” he stated.

Speaking on Oman FM’s National Agenda Tuesday, Felix Mantey said his party acknowledges the fact that NPP is in government and so will do whatever they can to support the government.

“We’re not in government, it is NPP that is in government so if they are going to do what will advance the course of the country why not we’re ready to support,” he asserted.

Touching on the proposal by ex-president John Agyekum Kufuor that NPP should employ critical thinkers and strategists who will serve as backroom staff to enable the party stay in power for long, Felix Mantey who lauded the idea however stressed that such a wonderful idea should not be restricted only to the party but extended to government.

He explained that critical thinkers are necessary to spearhead government policies and programmes to ensure economic growth so as to bring relief to the suffering masses.

“We need critical thinkers in the government so they will spearhead development agenda to end corruption and ensure economic growth and job creation,” he suggested.
