Be shareholder in NDC - Baba Jamal tells supporters

Kumasi, April 4, GNA - Alhaji Baba Jamal, Deputy General-Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has urged the supporters to be shareholders in the party to enhance its financial base. He stressed that the party was not the bona fide property of any single individual but for all supporters, activists and sympathisers and therefore called for the total commitment of all towards making the party financially sound.

Alhaji Jamal was addressing the executives of NDC Zongo communities in the Asokwa East constituency as part of the party's to sensitisation programme after the just ended voter registration exercise in Kumasi. He announced that some individual party members abroad had promised to donate handsomely to the party to enable it intensify its campaign for the December elections.

This development, he said, followed the completion of a comprehensive campaign strategies and planning drawn up by the national executive to win as many votes as possible in the elections. The Deputy General-Secretary charged the party's functionaries to gear most of their activities towards campaigning for the party at the grassroots where they were most needed to win the rural votes.

"Now that Ghanaians have tasted what is good and bad, the NDC will pool resources not only to sustain its strongholds, but will also break new grounds," he added.

Baba Sheriff, National Co-ordinator of the party's zongo communities, called on them to rally behind the party to regain power to end what he termed "political casualties" they have suffered since the NPP took over power. He advised the party's supporters not to hesitate to offer suggestions that would ensure the way forward for the party.
