Reverend Isaac Kwabena Asante, General Overseer of Mount Ararat Church International, has called on politicians to be tolerant of differing opinions for peace in the country.

He said Ghanaians acknowledged the desire of politicians to serve their country but then they should know that Ghana belongs to all of us.

Rev. Asante made the call when delivering his Christmas message at Amasaman in the Greater Accra Region.

He said as Ghana prepares for another era of democratic dispensation, there is the need for politicians to show love towards each other and also educate their followers.

Rev. Asante said the situation where politicians were at each other’s throat whenever they mounted party platforms or are speaking on the radio, do not augur well for the country’s democracy.

The General Overseer tasked the youth to resist the temptation of being used by some disgruntled politician to foment trouble and urged the electorate to vote for people who have the development of the nation at heart.

Rev. Asante also appealed to the Electoral Commission to put in place the necessary measures to ensure a free and fair election.

The General Overseer said the church had acquired a large tract of land at Amasaman where a school and a hospital would be built to cater for the educational and health needs of the poor and the needy.
