Be wary of false politicians - Edumadze

Ignore those preaching that the govt has not been able to honour its campaign promises
Agona Bobikuma (C/R), Aug 24, GNA - Mr Isaac Edumadze, Central Regional Minister, has advised Ghanaians to be wary of false politicians since they do not have any anti-dote to the country's economic woes.

He urged the electorates to ignore those preaching that the government has not been able to honour its campaign promises within two and half years.

Mr Edumadze was addressing the chiefs and the people of Upper Bobikuma in the Agona District of the Central Region to climax their annual Akwambo.

He noted that the previous administration ruled for solid twenty years but could not find a lasting solution to the economic problems of the country.

The Regional Minister asked the people to bear with the government while it implements policies and programmes to improve their living conditions.

He said the government had awarded the Agona Bobikuma/ Breman Kuntanase road on contract to facilitate the transportation of farm produce and goods to the marketing centres.

Mr Edumadze pointed out that the National Health Insurance Scheme would go a long way to ensure quality health-care for the people since they do not have to pay upfront before medical treatment and urged Ghanaians to embrace the policy.

He appealed to the chiefs and the people of Upper Bobikuma to rally behind the government to achieve its aims and objectives, adding that, the NPP inherited a poor economy from the previous administration.

Mr John Kwesi Agyabeng, District Chief Executive (DCE), expressed concern about the poor results of the Bobikuma Junior Secondary School in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and urged citizens of the area to help find a solution to the problem.

The DCE said the government would continue to provide educational infrastructure and advised parents, Unit Committees and Assembly Members to help in the promotion of education.

Nana Yaw Buabeng, Odikro of Bobikuma, appealed to the Regional Minister and the DCE for facilities to help raise the standard of education.

He stressed the need for parents to send their children to school.
