The executives of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) in the Berekum East Constituency of the Brong Ahafo Region, have donated some relief to the Berekum Senior High School.
The items include beddings and clothing, which are to support the school and the students who were affected by the recent fire outbreak at the boys’ dormitory.
Mr. Eric Osam-Pinanko, the Berekum East Constituency Chairman of the CPP, who led the executives, said the donation was in response to an appeal made by the school authorities.
He appealed to all stakeholders in the Berekum Municipality and beyond to go to the aid of the school at this crucial time.
He said the items were their widow’s mite to show solidarity with the displaced students and the school in general.
The Constituency Chairman said: “If there is any time to show concern and love for humanity, it is now.”
Receiving the items on behalf of the school, Mr. Thomas Effum, an Assistant headmaster, extended gratitude to their benefactors for their kind gesture.
He expressed the hope that many more individuals and organisations would follow suit to ensure that effective teaching and learning returned to normalcy as soon as possible, for students to complete the academic calendar on schedule.
Other members at the presentation of the items are Messrs Frank Kwarteng, Takyi Bright and Nana Boakye Elvis, Treasurer, Youth Organiser and Constituency Organiser, respectively.
