Berekumhene chairs IDEAS University College Council

The Omanhene of the Berekum Traditional Area, Daasebre Dr. Amankona Diawuo II, has been appointed chairman of the university council of the IDEAS University College, (IUC) Fiapre, near Sunyani.

The ceremony which announced his appointment took place at the school’s premises at Fiapre. In attendance were students and staff of the university as well as some members of the university’s reconstituted management team.

Daasebre Amankona Diawuo II, known in private life as Dr Leo Ofori, is a Surgeon Consultant at the Brong-Ahafo regional hospital in Sunyani.

Addressing the students and staff of the university, Daasebre Amankona Diawuo gave the assurance that the council would work hard to ensure that the new university makes the desired impact by contributing to the spiritual, mental, physical and social development of humanity through love, selfless service and Godliness.

He also pointed out that the council would religiously carry out its mandate of facilitating the smooth running of the university.

Daasebre Amankona Diawuo assured continuing and prospective students that the university has the conducive atmosphere that challenges students to be inquisitive, think clearly, develop competencies in their chosen areas of study, embrace a wholesome way of life and translate their love to service to humanity.

He charged the students to spread the good news about the university which has the most affordable and flexible payment plan for tuition fees, one of the best qualified and experienced lecturers and the most innovative administrative set up.

The chairman of the university council debunked rumours that the university has been relocated and explained that it is only the legally constituted council which can decide on matters affecting the running of the university.

Daasebre Amankona Diawuo announced the appointment of Nana Dr. Kwasi Diawuo as the Rector of IDEAS University College.
