Best Thing To Happen To NDC-Gen. Mosquito

Amissah Arthur’s Endorsement…

The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress, Johnson Aseidu Nketia, says the endorsement of Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur as the running mate to President John Mahama is the best thing to happen to the NDC in recent time. According to him, with the nomination and subsequent approval of the Vice-President Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur by the NDC’s Council of Elders and National Executive Committee (NEC) to partner Mr. Mahama in the upcoming polls, the NDC is now complete and the party is fully prepared for a vigorous campaign and ready to hit the ground running towards a ‘gargantuan victory’ in December.

“We are sure that our ticket is complete when it comes to the presidency and the NDC train is in full swing….There are a few problems with the selection of our parliamentary candidates which we are working feverishly on and soon, that will also be over and done with…The massive crowd that gathered at the National Theatre to endorse and approve President Mahama’s nomination of Amissah Arthur is indicative of the fact that the NDC is very much poised to win the December elections and retain power,” he noted.

Speaking in an interview on Okay FM’s Ade Akye Abia Morning show, General Mosquito as he is affectionately called, described Mr. Amissah-Arthur as a winnable candidate and believed his endorsement has shaken all the other political parties to the core.

“[Tuesday] was a happy day for the NDC, Amissah Arthur deserved the appointment because for the first time a vice presidential candidate was presented before the Council of Elders and NEC and he received a hundred percent approval. Nobody opposed his appointment and nobody had anything bad to say about him, which is an indication of his competence,” he said.

He added that Mr. Amissah Arthur has an affable disposition and can hold the fort when the President is not available; pointing out that the party took into consideration a lot of factors including the person’s ability to take over the mantle of leadership in the event of any eventuality.

“…We (NDC) considered ability to govern before appointing someone and not simply to win us votes…Amissah Arthur is hardworking, tolerant, and reliable and the NDC trust him since he is a first class political administrator, so when the president travels, there will no problem,” General Mosquito said.
