The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has sternly warned potential students and their guardians to be vigilant about fake admission facilitators.
The management mentioned this in a press statement that was issued and shared on X on August 23, 2024.
According to the statement, the syndicate work via email address such as mailto:knust.inscript@gmail.com and mailto:knust.inscripton@gmail.com to dupe unsuspecting applicants as well as solicit personal information from them.
The statement revealed that KNUST has not mandated any individual, agents, or third parties to handle admissions.
It said that all admission processes are solely managed through the university's official channels.
The school also urged potential students and their guardians to be on the lookout for any such fraudulent communication and immediately report them to the police.
The statement, signed by Dr. Daniel Norris Bekoe, Deputy Registrar of the University Relations Office, further stated, "For clarity, we remind all stakeholders that official KNUST admission forms can be obtained from:
"Undergraduate admission forms: Available at all regional post offices nationwide or you can dial short code*885# and follow the voice prompt to buy forms.
"Post graduate admission forms are available at designated banks.
“Management remains committed to a transparent and secure admission process for all applicants. We entreat all prospective students and guardians to exercise extreme caution and engage with the KNUST Admission Office exclusively to avoid falling victim to fraud.”
KNUST also assured all applicants of dedication to ensure a transparent and safe admission process for them.
