Bimbilla (Northern Region) 19, Sept. The Nanumba District Assembly has cladded 16 primary and junior secondary school pavilions at a total cost of 240 million cedis from the district's share of the common fund. The teachers library and resource centre for the Bimbilla Secondary School which was initiated by the district branch of the Ghana National Association of Teachers six years ago and abandoned, is also being constructed by the assembly at a cost of 22 million cedis. It is expected to be completed by the end of the year. Alhaji Seidu Amidu, the District Chief Executive, said this at the end of a workshop organized for 58 primary school headteachers at Bimbilla. He said that the ethnic conflict has affected not only educational facilities but has left in its wake social and economic problems. Alhaji Amidu urged the headteachers to ''rescue the schools from the confusion and the expensive consequences of trial and error''. He expressed the hope that the skills and knowledge acquired during the workshop will enhance the policy of community ownership and management in the educational reforms.
