The Electoral Commission says it is impressed with the performance of the Police in the ongoing biometric registration exercise.
The Police service has however in recent times come under public condemnation for alleged inaction on violent behaviors in some registration centres.
But speaking to XYZ NEWS, the Public Relations Officer of the EC Christian Owusu Parry said the police have been able to effectively manage all the trouble spots that were reported in the exercise.
“Interestingly the police are in control; they have been able to bring the violence under control so we are now receiving fewer and fewer reports of violence at the registration centres.”
Mr Owusu Parry said the elections will be peaceful if Ghanaians are law abiding and tolerant of opposing views.
“Everybody must be law abiding. There are rules governing the registration process and we expect that everyone complies with the rules.”**
