Biometric registration in Odododiodoo peaceful

Some biometric voters’ registration centers within the Odododiodoo constituency in the Greater Accra Region were carrying out registration without any hitches.

About thirty people were queuing in each centre and the atmosphere was cordial and peaceful when the Ghana News Agency (GNA) visited those places .

Party agents, registration officials, prospective voters and observers said they were satisfied with the process so far.

At the City Engineers Registration Center, Ebenezer Nii Okai Tagoe, a special duties official, told GNA that, registration officials were ready to work and equipment needed for the process was ready by 0645 hours.

He said actual registration begun at about 0730 hours and by 1500 hours more than 70 people had been registered at the center, and added: "I hope the registration continues this way for the rest of the period".

At the Akanmajay Mantse registration center, Mr. Eric Azaglo, a senior registration official said the voting begun at about 0730 hours. Over 130 people had been registered as at 1430 hours at the center.

Some prospective voters Ghana News Agency spoke with said that although they knew of the registration exercise, they would register later in the course of the week when queues would be shorter as most people would be at work.**
